You have what it takes to sell Avon

You have what it takes to sell Avon: It's more than selling beauty. It's earning money by simply making connection and letting your personality shine. Learn more today.

The Multi-Million Dollar Product That Got Away From 'Shark Tank'

Copa Di Vino, "an arrow to my heart, the pain I suffer when I hear that name," Kevin O'Leary told ABC News.
O’Leary remembers Copa Di Vino as the one that got away.
“I’m very frustrated with that guy,” O’Leary said. “Whatever he’s doing, I could make it twice the size.”
See the full story on ABC News' "'Shark Tank': Swimming With Sharks," Friday, May 2, at 8 p.m. ET, and watch a sneak peek HERE
Copa Di Vino founder James Martin is one of the most disliked entrepreneurs of ABC’s hit show "Shark Tank," but he is also one of the most successful.
Martin created Copa Di Vino, a portfolio of seven different types of wine that come in a patented glass-like container made out of recycled plastic with a pull-off and resealable lid.
Copa Di Vino promises an on-the-go premium glass of wine without worrying about wasting wine or dealing with a stubborn corkscrew.
Martin’s Oregon-based and family-owned winery struggled for years before making a profit. When the opportunity arose to appear on the second season of "Shark Tank," Martin jumped at the possibility for potential investors and additional expertise.
“At that point we had just started the company and we’re desperately in need of some cash,” Martin told ABC News. “We thought it was a perfect fit for the show and we were really excited to do it.”
Martin asked for $600,000 in exchange for 30 percent of his business.
Kevin O’Leary expressed interest, but wanted Martin to separate the patent for the container from the process of bottling the wine. Martin wouldn't budge, telling O’Leary the wine glass was the “special sauce.”
“I was so confident in my product that I thought for sure I would get the biggest deal that anyone got on this show,” Martin told ABC News. “Instead, I got totally demolished.”
The situation was tense in the shark tank after Martin walked out on the offers and brushed off their advice, Shark Barbara Corcoran told ABC News.
“He was arrogant, he didn’t listen,” Corcoran said. “Everyone was giving him good suggestions. He just dismissed it as though he was talking to no one. He made every shark hate him within minutes.”
However, within minutes after his episode aired, Martin said his phone wouldn't stop ringing with people pitching him with offers to invest in his company.
"Today, at what shares trade in the business, that investment would be worth $12 million,” Martin said. “That's a 20-times return on investment that they would have received in two and a half years.”
The show producers took notice of Martin’s overnight success, and offered Martin a rare second chance to go back in the tank.
The standoff between the sharks and Martin went into its second round when neither side budged on the very same point they were stuck on the first time around.
Martin was "the most obnoxious and most stubborn” entrepreneur they had on the show, shark Daymond John told ABC News.
“He was the first gold digger that we ever had,” Mark Cuban told ABC News. “It was so obvious and that was when I said I’m out, this makes no sense.”
Even though Martin walked away, again, without any of the sharks’ investment, the chance to promote his product on national television had huge payoffs.
“The first time I was on the show, we had done about $500,000 in revenue,” Martin said. “Today we’ve done over $25 million in revenue.”
Although the sharks were left with distaste for wine bottled in a glass, there’s no question of its popularity nationwide.
“We’re on track to serve more wine than McDonald's serves cheeseburgers,” Martin said.
Copa Di Vino now employs 150 employees and harvests 400 acres in the largest planting area in Oregon of Pinot Noir, he said.
“Stick to your vision, know your plan, know your business, and know your game,” Martin offered as advice for budding entrepreneurs who may next step into the tank.
“Make sure no one undersells you even if they’re a shark.”

9 Proven Sales Tips for Introverts

9 Proven Sales Tips for Introverts

Meet me at a party and I won't have a lot to say. Sit next to me on a cross-country flight and I may not say a word to you the entire trip.
I am an introvert.
It has never been easy for me to start a conversation with people I don't know. But you wouldn't know it if you saw me on a Google Hangout, in a TV interview or at one of my sales seminars. When I got out of college I was terrified to go on a job interview until I realized employers weren't going to come to my house and hire me. At 23, I sold cars for seven years and never got comfortable saying hello to a customer. Yet I still figured out how to reach the top 1 percent of all the salespeople in the auto industry.
We can all be introverts or extroverts, depending on the situation. I know people who would be viewed as extroverts at a party they host, but when they are guests at a party where they know no one, they appear to be introverts. As a professional speaker and educator, I become extroverted in order to deliver information, but when I attend seminars I am much more introverted.
So, how do you become extroverted in a sales situation when you are not naturally comfortable with it?
This is what I do to step out of my comfort zone:
Get passionate. I become so excited about what I'm selling that I have to share it with the world. Becoming passionate about your product or service makes you less interested in how you are perceived and more concerned about showing excitement about what you have to offer.
Do one thing a day that you fear. It’s very important for me do the things that make me most uncomfortable. You need to be courageous and make a point of facing your fears, no matter how big or small. The single scariest thing for me was visiting my customers or prospects in person. So that is exactly what I did first thing every day to get over my fear. It instilled courage in me, belief in myself and changed my focus from limitations to possibilities.
Be so persistent you get criticized for it. In life and in business, especially sales, you won’t become successful if you never get criticized. Follow up on customers so much that they actually complain about it, and once they do, keep following up until they admire you for your persistence. If you believe in your product, company and yourself, then you will be willing to insist—and risk being criticized for it.
Say hello to everyone you pass. I refuse to walk past any person without acknowledging him or her. I force myself to look everyone in the eyes and say hello. This builds a muscle enabling me to decide at will when I want to be extroverted, whether in a sales call or other situation.
Observe people for their differences. After a series of failed sales calls, you may start to see all prospects as likely rejections. What you need to do is take a moment and observe how people are different from one another. This will stop you from thinking that everyone is going to respond the same way your last few prospects did.
Force yourself to be in public. Step out of your home and office often so you can socialize with people. When I move to a new city, I will go to the same place over and over until I am comfortable and know everyone there. I have done this same thing with my children, bringing them to the same grocery store every morning until they could talk to the people working there as family.
Deliver public speaking engagements. The only way to become comfortable speaking to people is to get in front of audiences. Join a supportive group such as Toastmasters International where everyone is learning how to speak in front of others.
Stay busy. When you're constantly on the go, you don't have time to be uncomfortable. You have to ask for help, get help and talk to people because you are running from one sales meeting or event to the next. So, get moving.
Help other people make sales. Anytime I go a few days without making a sale for myself, I immediately offer my help to other salespeople because it’s a great way to get outside yourself. After several failures to close, a salesperson can become introverted and anxious. But by working with someone else's prospective customers and having nothing to lose yourself, you will feel more relaxed and regain your confidence. Once you score a sale for someone else, it’s back to your own prospects again.

Great Opportunities

I am a great fan of Direct Sales. It is because of direct sales that I have been able to be self employed since 1994. Has it been smooth sailing no, but has working for someone else been smooth sailing??

I have learned over the years it is when we take charge of our lives things begin to happen. Otherwise we are sitting back waiting on others to take action and then coast along with them and help them achieve their goals.

There are so many great companies out there and of course if I could join them all I would. Not saying that I can't, I just choose not too.

Avon Reference code valdosta Cost $15

And remember nothing happens until somebody sells something. Believe it or not we are all in sales. When job hunting you are selling you skills and talents and sharing why they should hire you. It is the same thing in direct sales!

Cheers to you and best wishes in you achieving your goals in 2013!

Have you discovered Pinterest?

Someone had showed me this site a few weeks back and I just really was not interested.  I thought to myself, I don't have time to be looking at all that stuff.  They bookmarked it on my computer, then someone sent me emails with cute birthday party ideas.  Next thing you know I am on Pinterest.  Again, jumping into something I know absolutely nothing about.  Then I start "liking" pins.  One day I looked at my account and it said I did not have any "pins" so I knew I had to "pin" something.  Then I see everyone is talking about this "Pinterest".  Then I got lucky I received an email from Tory Johnson you might know her as "Women for Hire" or "Spark and Hustle".  She had a great article on Pinterest stating it is the newest Social Media Tool, so of course that sparked my attention, since I seem to have this magnetic force that draws me to Social Media.  Anyways, this tool is a traffic driver.  People find things they like and then they "pin" it, then their friends "repin" it, creating a large word-of-mouth interest .  WOW!  Powerful!  So you want to make sure you create your profile, then be prepared to drift away into Pinterest Country.

Did you ever want to create a dream or goal book? Places you would to visit?  Things you wanted to do?  Love to do crafts and like new ideas? Looking for home decor ideas?  Like trying new recipes?  Or maybe visit the past?  Like Motivation and Encouragement? You can do all this and more on Pinterest.  As you find things you like you "Pin" it.  You also create "Boards" to organize your "Pins".

I love it, and have figured out on how to create my boards, share pictures, etc.  It is very easy to use.  This is a very visual site, I think that is why I like it so much.

Here is what Wikipedia has about Pinterest

What's the history of Pinterest? How did it get started?

So hopefully this will help you understand "Pinterest" a little bit more.

Happy Pinning!!!!

Tide Coldwater Review @shespeaksup #washcold

Wow, A full size FREE bottle of Tide Coldwater in the mail. You say how? Thru SheSpeaks and P&G to test. I look forward to having an opportunity to try this product. I have laundry that needs to be tackled today. So this bottle will be put to work. With four little ones in the home this bottle will definitely be put to the test.

My little helpers!

The results are in I have used my whole bottle of Tide Coldwater and it has been put to the test. I have washed clothes to the bed linen. One of the children wiped their mouth on my white jacket. I am not for sure on how long it has been on my white jacket. This is the before picture:

This is the after picture:

I asked my husband did he notice anything different with the laundry? He said, yes it smells clean. Overall, Tide coldwater did a great job. It did the job it set out to do. Laundry was accomplished and Tide Coldwater did a great job and I would recommend this product.

Disclosure - I received a bottle of Tide Coldwater for free from Tide/SheSpeaks to give my honest review of this product. This opinion is solely mine.

Twitter Party

I have attended my second Twitter party tonight. The first time is very overwhelming because you are trying to keep up with what is going on and answering the questions and Retweeting (RT). Yes MULTITASKING. Tonight was alot easier, but I still have alot to learn, (lol). I used Tweet Grid and it is pretty easy to use. No I didn't win anything either time, but I had a blast and learned alot about Twitter parties and the products during the Twitter Party. I did win something yesterday from Welch's for retweeting a post for them. So I highly recommend attending a Twitter Party. I also believe it is a great for a business to promote a product. Have fun Tweeting!

Earn extra money with your computer

I consider myself to be pretty resourceful and believe where there is a will there is a way. I have joined several Survey company's. I have found that most require alot of time with little reward or takes forever to earn. My most recent find - something that I think you will like. The company's name is YouData (youdata.com). They are trying to convince consumers like us that we should be the ones controlling our own data and selling our own attention, not third parties like broadcasters, newspapers, and spammers. By creating a MeFile at YouData.com, I now control what ads I see and when I see them. Best part - I am selling my attention directly to interested advertisers, for real money. That's right, I get paid for giving them my attention. I can use the funds to buy music and video online, donate to charities, give to my favorite blogs and websites, or keep the change myself and do whatever I want with it.

It's real. They pay. The first Friday I received an email from Paypal that I had a deposit, grant it, it wasn't much but I was excited because I had only visited once (because I was skeptic).
Click this link to sign up http://www.youdata.com/join/medbilso. My MeFile ID, medbilso, in the "Referral Code" will tell them I sent you. Make sure you complete your profile so you will receive more adds.

Another one I found to be fun is Crowdtap and I have already earned a little and actually enjoy it. Here is a link you can sign up with http://bit.ly/r6nM5P you have nothing to lose.

Superpoints is fun I am close to receiving my first gift card. Will be great for Christmas. To join http://superpoints.com/wrpgs/easksb

Feel free to share your experiences or any others that you may recommend.
