Women and their well being

As you know a little over a year ago I was diagnosised with cancer. Prior to my diagnosis I was just "to busy" to go to the doctors or anything else. Mothers most of the time put ourselves last. Here we are now classified as "Most Stressed Out in U.S."

It is up to us to change this and take control of our health. Make time for your annual exam. Go ahead and schedule it today, if you do not have insurance contact your local Health Department.

Share tips of how you make time for yourself. I look forward to hearing them and they just might help someone! Post away......

Saving Tip

Life's Challenges

We all have them, weather it be financial, health, family, career, etc. We grow thru them and they make us stronger. We should never let these challenges consume us. Here is a couple of great quote -

One ought never to turn one's back on a threatened danger and try to run away from it. If you do that, you will double the danger. But if you meet it promptly and without flinching, you will reduce the danger by half.
Sir Winston Churchill

Never give in--never, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.
Sir Winston Churchill

The Serenity Prayer

God grant me the Serenity
to accept the things
I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can,
And Wisdom to know the difference

Go After Your Dreams

You're good, but you're going to be great.

You're the best, but you're going to get better.

Sometimes the paths we take are long and hard, but remember: those are always the ones that lead to the most beautiful views.

Challenges come along inevitably: how you respond to them determines who you are - deep down inside - and everything you're going to be.

Increase the chances of reaching your goals by working at them gradually. The very best you can do is all that is asked of you.

Realize that you are capable of working miracles of your own making. Remember that opportunities have a reason for knocking on your door, and the right ones are there for the taking.

You don't always have to win, but you do need to know what it takes to be a winner.

It's up to you to find the key that unlocks the door to a more fulfilling life.

Understand that increased difficulty brings you nearer to the truth of how to survive it - and get beyond it.

Cross your bridges.

Meet your challenges.

Reach out for your dreams, and bring them closer and closer to your heart.

Get rid of the "if only's" and get on with whatever you need to do to get things right.

Go after what you want in life, with all the blessings of all the people who care about you. And find out what making your wishes come true really feels like.

~ Collin McCarty ~

Words To Live By

It's not how much you accomplish in life
that really counts,
but how much you give to other.

It's not how high you build your dreams
that makes a difference,
but how high your faith can climb.

It's not how many goals you reach,
but how many lives you touch.

It's not who you know that matters,
but who you are inside.

Believe in the impossible,
hold tight to the incredible,
and live each day to its fullest potential.
You can make a difference
in your world.

~ Rebecca Barlow Jordan ~

Your Dimension Of Greatness

No one can know the potential,
Of a life that is committed to win;
With courage - the challenge it faces,
To achieve great success in the end!

So, explore the Dimension of Greatness,
And believe that the world CAN be won;
By a mind that is fully committed,
KNOWING the task can be done!

Your world has no place for the skeptic,
No room for the DOUBTER to stand;
To weaken your firm resolution
That you CAN EXCEL in this land!

We must have VISION TO SEE our potential,
And FAITH TO BELIEVE that we can;
Then COURAGE TO ACT with conviction,
To become what GOD MEANT us to be!

So, possess the strength and the courage,
To conquer WHATEVER you choose;
That is destined FOREVER to lose!

Taking Time & Making Memories

Can you believe it is already Thursday? and July at that? This has been a very busy week and when it is busy time sure does seem to fly. I was just thinking, in less than a month Carter will be back at school. Yesterday he stayed home from day camp and we sat at the lake most the day. He would swim for a while then fish. He was so excited when the neighbors dog came over and went swimming with him. I decided to moved my office to the dock and worked while he had fun. A win win situation for both of us. Today, he went to Day Camp and they had a field trip to Jump N Jacks. They have indoor inflatable bounce house and slides. So he completely tired himself out today. Tomorrow might just be a day of rest for him.

The smoke from the fires are really bad here. We are having a time with allergies and the smoke seems to be adding to it.

What are your plans for the summer? Any trips planned? Father's Day Weekend we had a mini 24 hour vacation. We went to St Augustine FL and visited the Pier, ate at the famous Oasis.

Started the next morning off with a walk on the beach.
Carter had fun swimming. Then it was time to head back to our room and pack for our trip to Jacksonville Zoo to see the Dinosaurs. But of course we had to take a little detour and visit the Lighthouse.
Which Carter had to climb to the top with Dad.
So glad it was Dad and not me. I would have not made it back down. Somebody would have had to come get me. So after tiring Dad out we then continued our journey to Jacksonville Zoo. This was an adventure. Carter was so excited about going and seeing the Dinosaurs, BUT, when we made it to the Dinosaurs he was so scared. We had to explain that they were not real. Dad, of course, did not help matters,
After our little stroll and train ride thru the Zoo we were exhausted and were ready to return home. We did all of this in 24 hours. So you can have an amazing time in a short amount of time and make LASTING MEMORIES. Oh, two days later my Best Friend called and asked if Carter and I wanted to go to the beach her Sister has a Timeshare in Pompano Beach. So, of course, I said sure. Off we went for 2 days.

Enjoyed 4th of July 2011

This has been a very peaceful and relaxing day. No time schedule, no work, a day to do whatever I want. You don't get to many days like this one. Enjoyed the morning at the lake watching Carter fish and enjoy the coolness of the day. Then decided to make Macaroni Salad and Chicken Salad. I had found a recipe for homemade Ice Cream so Carter and I have attempted to make it and we added fresh Georgia peaches to it. Now we just have to wait for it to freeze.

Spent the afternoon swimming at the lake. So nice and a great way to stay cool.

Will have to let you know how the homemade ice cream turns out.

Going to spend the rest of the evening relaxing and watching reruns of "Murder She Wrote".

Happy 4th of July (2011)

Happy 4th of July! Time to celebrate with family, friends and loved ones. It has been exactly one year since I have completed my treatments for cancer.

We spent the day in the lake swimming. Last night we attended the annual celebration of Independence Day at Tom's Pond.

The Fire works were awesome. They played patriotic music during the firework show. All the grandbabies were there and children except for my daughter. Missed having her there. The children Had a wonderful time playing and when the Fireworks began they sat and watched and cheered them on.

Have a blessed and safe 4th of July. Remember to make lots and lots of memories and to have fun.
